IPIA OFFICE BEARERS

SECRETARY GENERAL (SG) – Linda Brady Hawke (Biography)


The DG position will be held by Ms. Linda Brady Hawke, CEO, L.B. Associates (Pvt) Ltd, publisher of Creature Companion Magazine and organizer of the India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF). The Director Generalship is a non-paying position. The DG will take charge of date-to-day operations of the Association, while keeping the elected President, the Committee and the members at large informed. Secretary General is a ‘permanent’ position. This will be a permanent position such as the one held by Dr. Amit Mitra of FICCI, because an association such as this needs continuity in operations. The SG is not a dictator. The SG will be a regular member and all proposals put forward by this person must be voted upon by the Managing Committee. The SG, however, will have authority to take actions that will enhance the smooth running of the association.


PRESIDENT – Mr. Naveen Kohli, President, Shivam Polymers (Biography)

This is a rotating position held by CEOs/Proprietors of companies within the regular membership. Presidents of the IPIA will be voted in annually by the regular members. The Presidency is a non-paying position. The President will be front and centre (the pivotal point) at all Association functions. He will head the ‘Managing Committee’ and thus chair meetings. He will generate messages and press releases in the name of the Association with assistance from the DG. He will keep the Vice-President and Director General informed.


VICE PRESIDENT – Mr. Siddharth Modi, Managing Director, Avanti Overseas Private Limited (Biography)

This is rotating position held by CEOs/Proprietors of companies within the regular membership. Vice Presidents of the IPIA will be voted in annually by the regular members. The Vice Presidency is a non-paying position. The VP will assume the duties of the President, should the President resign or become temporarily or permanently unable to carry out his duties and continue to do so until the President returns or until the next election, whichever comes first.


TREASURER – Still vacant

The Treasurer shall be responsible for the money and other finances of the IPIA and shall make them available to the President or any other person on a requisition signed by the President in terms of the sanctioned budget. The Treasurer shall be responsible for maintaining the books of accounts.


SECRETARY/CLERK

This will be a permanent employee of L.B. Associates (Pvt) Ltd; the job, however, will be part time. This person will report directly to the Secretary General and will account for all hours put into the functions relating to the day-to-day functioning of the association. The IPIA will only be charged for actual hours that were put in for the smooth running of the association. This person will also manage the association website.


MANAGING COMMITTEE (not formed yet)

The committee will consist of seven regular members and will be presided over by the President. They will be elected by their peers for the position and remain as a committee member for one years. The committee will meet on a regular basis (as detailed in the Rules and Regulations) to discuss matters pertaining to the Association such as (but not limited to) admission of new members, creation of additional member categories amongst other matters.


SUB-COMMITTEES

These may be formed from regular and associate members from time to time to organize specific events or projects. The President will call for volunteers whenever a sub-committee is required and will select the members from those volunteers. Each sub-committee will be headed by one regular member. Sub-committees will be dissolved once the task for which they were established has been successfully completed.
